Interview
with JJRoberts www.JJRoberts.com
John
A&E Leppard: How did you make it into the WWE as a Ring
Announcer?
JJRoberts: Years of sending
video tapes and resume's following years of independent and Toughman
Contest announcing.
John A&E Leppard: What`s been your best WWE
show that you have worked at so far?
JJRoberts: Non
televised-Chicago 12/03 because I was comfortable in the ring and
there is no crowd like the Chicago crowd and that helps a lot.
Televised, the last Smackdown I did, because I just came off a tour
and didn't have the usual rust I seem to have at tv tapings.
John A&E Leppard: With WrestleMania XX
just round the corner, is there a chance you could work the show at
all in anyway?
JJRoberts: I wish, but I don't
see myself getting the chance to ring announce since the other 3
announcers earned the right to be there, and I haven't been there
long enough...and I would love to cover any other spot, but WWE
really hasn't used me as an interviewer or anything other than an a
ring announcer-so I don't see this happening.
John A&E Leppard: Dose your WWE contract give
you freedom to have some small JJRoberts: creative control, like
being able to announce in your own way?
JJRoberts:The contract that I
had did not tell me how to announce. I think it's trial and
error-I announce and if it's good-I don't hear anything, but if it's
not-I change whatever needs to be changed.
John A&E Leppard: Most fans belive that
RvD shoud have been a World Champion by now, a few weeks ago Kurt
Angle told a Radio Station (InTheRing) that if RvD was on Smackdown
he would have already been WWE Champion. You can`t keep a fan fav
down forever. Do you belive this is down to the Raw creative team or
the fact that HHH gets alot more say into WWE matters?
JJRoberts: I have no idea...I
am not involved in any creative aspect of the company, I come
in-announce-and leave. If I have ideas for the product, I'll
drop a note and end it there.
John A&E Leppard: Would you ever like to go
into other fields in the WWE, do a character like Johnathan
Coachman. I think you would be a decent heel at some point, maybe
attack someone after you have just announced them to the ring?
JJRoberts: I'd love to do
something like that, but it's because I'm a ham and I love to
entertain. As a ring announcer, I'm just pretty much in the
background so I don't see myself as a character-ya never know
though...
John A&E Leppard: Not many people
understand how much you have to travel, is that hard to get used to
on the road all the time?
JJRoberts: I have it easy since
I am part time, but the guys who are on the road four/five days a
week really go through some challenging obstacles to get to their
jobs and live their lives. I don't know if that fans realize
what they go through to be at live events and television tapings.
John A&E Leppard: Who are you most friends with
in the WWE?
JJRoberts: Everybody's cool
John A&E Leppard: I heard something
about the Big Show saving your skin abit at a show, what happend
there?
JJRoberts: My dressing room
door jammed in Chicago and he was my hero. The full story is
on WWE.com, or if this becomes outdated-it's also on my site-

John A&E Leppard: Thank you so much for this
interview
JJRoberts:
Thank you for the chance to answer your questions.
